The Rose Hall Developments Team in St James was excited to spend Labour Day in service at the Barrett Town Police Station in their parish. Staff turned out in high numbers to beautify the station with a fresh paint job, landscaping by the expert Rose Hall Beautification Team and some minor repairs around the station.

“This project was easily selected by our Committee,” said Lisa James, HR Administrator from Rose Hall Developments Ltd and project lead for this year’s Labour Day Project, “Rose Hall is committed to preserving the heritage of Rose Hall and her surrounding communities and we know that the Police Officers at Barrett Town play an integral part in this – how better to serve the men who serve than to give them a more pleasant environment to work in?”

It was clear that the officers were pleased with the work as Inspector Gordon was to be seen inter-acting with volunteers all day, frequently expressing his gratitude to the team.

Chairman and Owner of Rose Hall Developments Ltd, Michele Rollins was also on hand to personally tackle some of the painting needed for the station which had not been painted for the last several years. “We have a 60 year tradition of building this community in the Rollins family,” she shared, “it started with my husband John but our children and I will always be ready to continue to support the development of Rose Hall, St. James and Jamaica in general.”

Wyley Sweeney, President of Rose Hall Developments Limited stated that this will not be a one off project for Rose Hall. “We will continue to work with Inspector Gordon and his team to improve this facility to make it even more comfortable for the hard working men and women of the constabulary based at Barrett Town.”
