Q: What hotels and resorts are there at Rose Hall?
A: There are five major hotels in the area of Rose Hall:
The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort – This five-diamond, 480-room beachfront resort combines Jamaica’s Old World appeal with an inviting sense of Caribbean charm. Business and leisure travelers alike will appreciate 16,475 square feet of meeting and function space, luxury full-service spa and gym, tennis courts and five world-class restaurants. The Ritz-Carlton operates the acclaimed White Witch Golf Course designed by Robert von Hagge, considered to be one of the finest in the Caribbean.
Rose Hall Resort & Country Club – This seaside 488-room resort offers five restaurants, 11,000 square feet of meeting space, tennis, watersports, a fitness center and a great children pleaser: Sugar Mill Falls – an elaborate, $7 million fantasy water park featuring a 13,000 square foot pool and a 280-foot water slide and river. Luxury Resorts operates the celebrated von Hagge-designed Cinnamon Hill Ocean Golf Course.
THE PALMYRA RESORT & SPA – The Palmyra Resort & Spa at Rose Hall is the first luxury beachfront condo hotel in Jamaica. Situated on 16 acres of breathtaking waterfront land, the Palmyra offers privileged access to three internationally acclaimed golf courses as well as five-star amenities including ESPA, a signature spa designed by Susan Harmsworth. IBEROSTAR RESORT & SPA – Iberostar Resort & Spa, the Caribbean’s newest and finest all-inclusive resort, is scheduled to open in the fall of 2007. The hotel will offer the upscale European elegance which characterizes the Iberostar brand throughout the world.
Q: What restaurants are there at Rose Hall?
A: There are five restaurants in the Ritz-Carlton, five restaurants in the Half Moon, and five restaurants in the Rose Hall Resort & Country Club. There are also restaurants at all three golf clubhouses. The Palmyra and Iberostar will feature world-class restaurants as well.
Outside the Rose Hall resort are several other restaurants, including Jimmy Buffett’s famous Margaritaville, the dining room at the nearby Coyaba Hotel and The Stocks, an English pub in the Half Moon Shopping Village. (For a more local Jamaican experience, try Scotchies.)
Q: What retail opportunities are available at Rose Hall?
A: The Shoppes at Rose Hall are the latest addition to the refined tastes of Jamaica. Here, resort guests and residents can find designer pieces in a charming, duty-free environment. Phase I of the Shoppes features outlets for jewelry, men’s and women’s clothing, fragrances, cosmetics, and specialty goods. Customers can also revel in the architectural beauty of the center: tropical plant life encases narrow streetscapes that draw on the tranquility and beauty of the surroundings. Located across from the Rose Hall Great House on the North Coast Highway, The Shoppes are destined to become the major upscale shopping facility and attraction in Montego Bay.
Golf Courses
Q: Which courses may we play as Rose Hall Club members?
A: Rose Hall has become one of the Caribbean’s premier golf destinations, with 54 holes of spectacular golf within the resort.
There are the formidable White Witch, the historic Cinnamon Hill, and the storied Half Moon golf courses, all available to members of the Rose Hall Club and guests of the resort.
Q: Who designed the White Witch Golf Course and when did it open?
A: It was designed by Robert von Hagge and Rick Baril, of the acclaimed architectural firm of von Hagge, Smelek & Baril. The course opened with the Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf tournament in the fall of 2000.
Q: Who designed the Cinnamon Hill Golf Course and when did it open?
A: The same design team of von Hagge and Baril designed this course, which opened in 2001.
Real Estate
Q: What properties are available for sale at Rose Hall?
A: Large wooded homesites are available overlooking the fairways and the Caribbean Sea.
Q: Is there a Homeowners Association?
A: Yes, all property owners will belong to the Rose Hall Property Owners Association.
Q: Can I build a swimming pool, tennis court, and/or guesthouse?
A: Yes, subject to the architectural covenants specific to the property.
Security
Q: What kind of security is there at Rose Hall?
A: In addition to the Jamaican National Police, which has offices in Montego Bay and St. James Parish, Rose Hall Developments, Ltd. maintains a private security force which patrols the community 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week.
Renting
Q: Does Rose Hall have a rental plan?
A: Rose Hall does not have a rental plan.
Utilities & Services
Q: Who picks up the garbage?
A: Garbage is collected by a service contracted with the Homeowners Association.
Rose Hall Club
Q: May members sell or otherwise transfer their memberships?
A: Members may only transfer their memberships through the Club.
Q: What are the annual dues?
A: Prior to each membership year (November 01 through October 31), the Club and participating affiliates will set the annual dues and fees to be payable in advance for the ensuing year.
