Overview
Geography: Jamaica stretches out over 4,441 square miles making it the third largest island in the Caribbean. It lies 700 miles south of Miami, 500 miles due north of the Panama Canal. Jamaica is a country of mountains, plateaus, plains, rivers and mineral springs. Its world-renowned Blue Mountain coffee, rum, bananas and coconuts can be enjoyed year round. The population of Jamaica is 2.5 million people.
Airports: Guests of Rose Hall, Jamaica can make arrangements to be picked up from the Sangster International Airport by special Town Cars or Shuttle at a minimal cost and whisked away to one of our many resorts in just 20 minutes.
Climate and Clothing: Tropical light weight clothing is ideal for Jamaica's average climate that ranges between 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit in the plains and between 70-80 degrees in the mountains. (A light sweater is recommended for cooler winter evenings.)
Nature: The Rose Hall resort community encompasses everything in nature that is wonderful about the island of Jamaica. A mile offshore is the deep blue Caribbean, where large pelagic fish like marlin and tuna cruise. Moving inshore the waters lighten—dark green, light green, turquoise, and finally crystal clear. A stretch of living coral reef protects the quiet lagoon where guests can swim, snorkel and sail year round.
Back from the beaches are the small grassy hills of Rose Hall, once covered with sugar cane, today returned to nature. Tropical birds of many varieties and native flowering trees of many colors delight the eye.
Music: As you probably could guess, Reggae is the music born and bred in Jamaica. A combination of rhythm and blues, rock steady and ska, there's no better event to see and hear some of the best Reggae bands than at Jamaica's annual Reggae festival known as Reggae Sunsplash.
